This 1-day Mount Kilimanjaro hike offers a short but exciting adventure on Africa’s highest mountain. Starting from Arusha or Moshi, you’ll drive to Kilimanjaro National Park and trek along the Marangu Route, known for its scenic beauty and accessibility.

The trail takes you through lush rainforests, where you may spot monkeys, birds, and unique plant life, and up to Mandara Hut (2,700m), offering panoramic views and a taste of the Kilimanjaro experience. Perfect for those with limited time, this day hike provides an unforgettable glimpse of Tanzania’s iconic peak.

Day 1: DAY TRIP TO MOUNT KILIMANJARO

At 8:00 a.m., you will be picked up at your hotel and driven to Marangu, which is where the 1970-meter Mt. Kilimanjaro National Park entrance is.

0900 Hours: Our experienced guide will meet you at the gate and give you some basic information about the hike. The first hut, the Mandara hut, will take you three to four hours to walk to. You’ll get there in the afternoon.

At 13:00, lunch will be ready for you when you get to the hut. The hut has a great view of the Moshi area.

1400 Hours: Your guide will take you for a short walk to Maundi Crater after lunch. Then you will walk back down to Marangu Gate. You will walk slowly down to Marangu Gate, which will take you about two hours. During that time, you will look around for anything you might have missed on the way up.

It will be 1600 hours when you get to Marangu National Park. Someone from your hotel will be waiting to take you back to the camp.

From 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., go back to your hotel in Arusha.
