Day 1: Iby'Iwcu Cultural Village Tour

Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Kigali and drive you to Nyabigoma, Kinigi, Musanze District, Northern Province. The trip will take about two hours. You will enjoy the stunning beauty of Rwanda’s rolling scenery along the way. This is why the country is known as “The Land of a Thousand Hills.” You can ask your driver-guide about interesting places to see along the way or ask to stop for pictures.

Soon, you’ll reach the center of Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, a truly amazing community project that gives people jobs, gives them power, and provides long-term alternatives to theft. When you get there, a friendly local guide will greet you and take you on a fascinating tour of Rwanda’s cultural past.

You will do many things during your visit, such as looking around traditional huts, trying local beers, seeing a traditional wedding ceremony, and listening to interesting stories. You are welcome to join the skilled dancers and drummers who will put on a lively show of traditional Rwandan dances at the end of the experience.

During your visit, a tasty lunch with local food will be set up and served. You will drive back to Kigali in the afternoon, where you can either catch your flight or stay the night.
